Terms and conditions

Clear Business is part of the Clear Business group. The group is Inspire Payment Services Limited (payment services), Verastar Limited (telecoms) and TBO Services Limited (insurance) which all trade as Clear Business, and Clear Business Water Limited (water), Sinq Power Limited (electricity) and Economy Gas Limited (gas).

Other supplier termination fees

For water customers in England and for insurance customers, we will not pay towards any exit fees that you may incur from your previous supplier.

For water customers in Scotland

There is a maximum of one credit of up to £300 in total per customer. To qualify for this offer you must send Clear Business a copy of the invoice from your previous supplier that shows the value of the termination fee and the date of the invoice. We may require a copy of your existing contract to validate you are being correctly charged a termination fee. Any termination fee credit can only be used to pay for services provided by us. If the contract between you and us is terminated during the initial supply period, you must repay all termination fee credits in full. The amount we will credit is the lower of (1) your termination fee and (2) £300. 

For telecoms and broadband

There is a maximum of one payment to the bank account, details of which we hold for you, of up to £300 in total per customer. To qualify for this offer, you must send Clear Business a copy of the invoice from your previous supplier that shows the value of the ETC (Early Termination Charge) and the date of the invoice, which must be after the date on which Clear Business placed an order to transfer your services to Clear Business. Clear Business may require a copy of your existing contract to validate you are being correctly charged an ETC. If the contract between you and Clear Business is terminated during the Minimum Period (as defined in your terms and conditions), you must repay all ETC amounts paid by Clear Business in full. The amount we will pay is the lower of (1) your ETC and (2) £300.  

For card payments

Card payment services are provided by Inspire Payment Services Limited trading as Clear Business.

One Clear Business Payments account credit available for customers who enter into an agreement for at least 12 months. Maximum account credit is the lower of: 

- your termination charge; 

- your remaining terminal contract liability; and 

- the maximum credit limits listed below, dependent on turnover levels:

To qualify for this offer, you must provide: 

• your two most recent merchant statements from your previous provider and either 

• a valid cancellation invoice clearly showing your termination charge from your previous supplier and proof of payment by you; or 

• a copy of your terminal contract showing the contracted term for which you remain liable, your most recent terminal invoice and proof of payment for that invoice. 

If the agreement between you and Clear Business is terminated during the initial term (as set out in your agreement) or your monthly card turnover is more than 50% below 1/12th of your estimated annual card turnover, you must repay all amounts credited by Clear Business in full. Offer may be withdrawn at any time.

Water
55,000 have switched

Clear Business’ licensed provider, Clear Business Water Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Verastar Ltd to which over 55,000 Scottish customers have switched since 2013. 

Guaranteed savings 

Guaranteed savings on water and waste water services. For customers in Scotland, this is compared to the Business Water Default Maximum tariff as set by the Water Industry Commission for Scotland. For customers in England, this is compared to the incumbent provider's default tariff.

Telecoms and broadband
Call bundles 

Pricing and terms for each call bundle can be viewed on the Charges Schedule. Call bundles subject to availability based on your existing service. Fair use policy applies. Excludes line rental, seat rental and any other network services, which are charged in addition. Calls capped for the first hour of the call, after which calls are charged at the pence per minute rate detailed on the Charges Schedule. Excludes calls to Lyca mobiles, which are charged at FW7 (please refer to Charges Schedule). All Prices plus VAT charged at the applicable rate and are charged monthly in advance, unless stated otherwise. Minimum period of 1 month and non-refundable.

Unlimited usage 

Applies to our unlimited packages only. Clear Business operates a fair usage policy for its Unlimited Copper, Part-Fibre and Full-Fibre broadband services. You will incur no additional charge or suspension of service as a consequence of exceeding any usage threshold. If your use of the service is adversely affecting the network (or any part of it) or other customers, then Clear Business may moderately regulate your usage. 

Line Assurance 

Applies to all services on the line. Line Assurance can be cancelled at any time by calling us on 0333 014 3131. You must be able to provide access to the affected site at the time of the scheduled appointment and must complete any equipment checks we request prior to the appointment being made. Any engineer charges as a result of these conditions not being met will not be covered by Line Assurance. Cover is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy.

Fibre broadband

Fibre broadband is subject to availability.

Full Fibre broadband speeds

The actual speed you will receive is subject to time of day, location, premises wiring and Wi-Fi connection.

Part-Fibre and Copper download speeds/upload speeds

Based on 10% of our customers on the network achieving this speed or faster. Speed is subject to line distance from the exchange, or the principal connection point for fibre, to your premises and line quality. Speeds vary significantly by location. External factors e.g. internet congestion and premises wiring also affect speed. Fibre is subject to exchange availability. 

Full Fibre fewer faults

According to the National Infrastructure Commission, Full Fibre has five times fewer faults than copper connections. Information from www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/

Wi-Fi 6 router

£9.99 delivery charge applies. If you terminate your contract with Clear Business and you have taken a router which is not returned within 14 days of termination at your expense, in good condition and suitable packaging, you will be charged £50 plus VAT. Mobile
Unlimited calls and texts 

Only applies to UK mobiles and UK numbers beginning 01, 02, 03.  

Unlimited data 

If we believe that your use of data is adversely affecting the network (or any part of it) or other customers, then we may impose network protection controls. 

Plans and packages 

SIM only plans do not include a handset. 

O2 Network reliability 

Network provided by O2. O2 won ‘Most Popular Mobile Network’ and ‘Best Network for Roaming’ at the Uswitch Telecoms Awards 2023.

Divert calls from your Clear Business landline to your mobile

Terminal Activation Prize Draw

By entering this prize draw, you’re agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Eligibility and Entry

1.        The prize draw is open to our customers who have a contract for payment services. 1 entry per payments terminal activated and used to take a payment.

2.       You’ll be automatically entered into the prize draw if you meet the eligibility criteria in paragraph 3.

3.       To be entered into the prize draw you must:

a.      Have successfully activated your payments terminal;

b.      Have successfully taken your first payment through your payments terminal within 5 calendar days of it being delivered to you; and

c.       The date of this payment must be within the period specified in paragraph 4 below.  

4.       The opening date for entries is 8:00am 10 November 2025. The closing date for entries is 11:59pm on 19 December 2025. Entries after this time won’t be included in the prize draw. We accept no responsibility for activations not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind.

For example:

i)                 If you received your payments terminal on 10 November at 11:00am, you would have until 11:59am on 15 November to activate your terminal and take your first payment through it.

ii)                If you received your payments terminal on 17 December at 11:00am, you would have until 11:59pm on 19 December 2025 to activate your terminal and take your first payment through it.

Prize and notification

5.       A winner will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process on or around 22 December 2025 ("Draw Date").

6.       The winner will receive a £250 Marks & Spencer’s e-gift card. This prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

7.       The prize is supplied by The Runa Network Ltd t/a Runa. Runa’s terms and conditions will apply to the use of the gift card, these can be found here. We reserve the right to replace the prize with an alternative of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.

8.       The winner will be notified by email or telephone using the details we have within 2 days following the Draw Date. If the winner doesn’t respond within 7 calendar days of being notified, the prize will be forfeited and we’ll be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the above process. The prize will be sent by email within 7 calendar days of the winner responding to the notification of their win and confirming their email to us.

9.       We’ll make available on request information that indicates that a valid award took place. This will include the name of the customer (in the case of companies, the business name, or in the case of sole traders, their surname), and the county they’re located in. If you’re the winner, we’ll ask you to confirm that you’re happy with us sharing this information and to participate in any post-draw publicity. You may object to this (doing so won’t impact receipt of your prize).

Delays

10.     Where you’re entering into a contract with us with the view to entering into this prize draw. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to consider whether it leaves enough time for delivery and use of the payments terminal, and your decision to enter the contract with us is not conditional on your entry into this prize draw.

11.      We’re not responsible for any delays in the delivery of payments terminals which restrict the ability of a potential participant from entering into the prize draw.

General

12.     We reserve the right to refuse entry or to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

13.     Our decision regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding. We reserve the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend this promotion.

14.     As far as permitted by law, we (and our agents or distributors) won’t be responsible or liable to compensate the winner, or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring from taking the prize except where it is caused by our negligence (or the negligence of our agents, distributors or employees). Your statutory rights aren’t affected.

15.     Personal data supplied during this prize draw will be processed as set out in our privacy policy. See also paragraph 9 regarding the announcement of winners.

16.     These terms and conditions and this promotion are governed by English Laws and courts.
